Community Market each Friday at the Hiddenite Center's Educational Complex beginning at 4:00 p.m. with music, food, homemade ice cream by hit' n' miss engine, produce, plants, yard sales, flea market, face painting,  and more!    Vendor space is $8. (Call to reserve) Civic or church groups are invited to schedule a date to be our food vendor; entertainers are encouraged to call to be featured performance. 

Get a jump on your YARD SALE BARGAINS and FRESH PRODUCE by shopping our market on Friday evenings. If you and your friends love to shop Yard Sales or Flea Markets on the weekend, then this is the event for you ! You will get all the best bargains, treats, and special finds !

Shopping at the Hiddenite Center Community Market is a great way to support local growers, fellowship with your neighbors, and find great yard sale / flea market bargains !

This Summer, Let ART Take You Places! Get on Board at the Center's Educational Complex - Kids Summer Art Classes - 2010 Travel with Art Instructor Martha Burgin, without ever leaving the classroom! Tuesday's June 15,22,29 and (no July 1st Class) July 13,20 and 27th Our Art Adventure will conclude with an Artist Exhibit and Reception on Sunday, August 1 from 3 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.  Ages 4 thru 8 will meet 10:00 a.m. until 12 noon    (ages 4 and 5 must be accompanied by an adult) Ages 9 and above will meet 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Cost: you may pay by the day, at a cost of $8.00 per day or you may pay $40.00 prepaid for all six days and save! (Friends of the Center pay $35 prepaid for all six days) To reserve your place or get info call the Hiddenite Center 828-632-6966.

July 18 - 3:00 - 4:40 pm
Meet the Artist Reception honoring sisters, Alva P. Hoke and Rita P. Ledford.  Visit with these ladies and enjoy their exhibit, Sisterhood of Art"  from 3:00 until 4:30 p.m. in the Lucas Mansion Gallery.  Free and open to the public.

July 22 - 7:00 pm
SWEET ADELINES in performance on Thursday evening, July 22 at 7:00 p.m. at the Hiddenite Center's Educational Complex.  Sweet Adelines International is a highly respected worldwide organization of women singers committed to advancing the musical art form of barbershop harmony. 
Reservations for the evening include dinner and entertainment for $15.00 per person.  Call the Hiddenite Center at 828-632-6966 or e-mail us at info@hiddenitecenter.com.  Cancellations must be made before noon on day of performance.

Do you need a location to hold your special event?

The Hiddenite Center's Educational Complex building is available for rent to groups or individuals as an excellent location to hold your next special event. We will be happy to speak with you and answer any questions you may have. Read some of the details below.

How many will the complex seat?
The complex has a seating capacity of 222 (Auditorium style) and about 175 (comfortable dinner style).

What type of kitchen facilities are available?
A full-service kitchen is available for us at a fee of $25.00 per hour.

What is the cost?
The Multi-purpose room of the Educational Complex rents for $100 for the first three hours and $25 each additional hour (this includes set up time, clean up, etc.) Use of the larger space does not include use of other spaces. Additional fees can be negotiated for those wishing to use the entire space. There are smaller rooms for small functions which rent for 3 hours for $35.

Is the facility handicap accessible?
Yes, all facilities are handicapped accessible.

What about clean up after our event?
Patrons are asked to leave the building as they found it. The Center will gladly set up tables and chairs IF the renter provides a diagram of how they wish the room set. Additional charges may result from excessive cleaning that must be performed following a use.

What is included in the rental?
The rental of the facility includes the use of tables and chairs. Tablecloths (plastic) are available for a nominal fee. Access to ice is also provided, but no other amenities are provided. Use of the kitchen includes use of equipment only.

What about security?
Due to complaints from neighbors and law enforcement, security may be required for any function at the Center. This security will be provided by a Hiddenite Center chosen firm at the expense of the renter. Failure to comply will result in the renter not being able to use the facility.

The Hiddenite Center is a NON-SMOKING facility due to insurance regulations and for the health and safety of all of our patrons. The facility features a wooden, spring-hung floor which is great for dancing feet! Use our facility for family reunions, wedding receptions, parties, etc. Book early to insure availability of your chosen date.
